This is a portrait of the family of my dad’s father and grandfather when they moved to LA from Japan at the turn of the century. Art incorporating images of my family and ancestors honors them and is more meaningful for me in the creation process.

Marian is a third-generation Japanese American, lifelong Baptist, collage artist, and recent retiree. She lives with her husband and one (or more) of her three kids in Pasadena, CA.
